MUAR: In line with the Malaysia Day spirit, efforts to assist the needy in Bukit Kepong and Pagoh are ongoing.

A team of volunteers from Armada and Srikandi Bersatu Pagoh recently visited 15 homes of folks from Felcra Bukit Kepong to deliver food supplies and cash aid.

Traveling about 70km from Muar, the volunteers in seven vehicles met the Felcra settlers, mostly those with chronic illnesses and accident victims in need of urgent assistance.

"We received an urgent call for help and soon gathered our Caring Visit (Ziarah Prihatin) team to help the Bukit Kepong Felcra folk.

"We wish to thank the village head and Eazry Mohamad of Armada Pagoh in making the programme a success," said Janariah Abu Nawan who is Pagoh Srikandi Bersatu Chief.

She said the spirit of helping others and the community must continue even after the Malaysia Day celebrations, especially in helping fellow Malaysians face the menacing Covid-19 pandemic.

"We will continue to reach out to those in need and do our best to help ease their burdens," she added.
