KUALA LUMPUR: There is nothing much else on the mind of national sprinter Jonathan Nyepa at this point in time, apart from bettering his personal best timing in his 100m pet event and the 200m this season.

He is also aiming to be the best among his fellow national sprinters – Khairul Hafiz Jantan, Nixson Kennedy and Badrul Hisyam Abdul Manap.

“What I want to achieve this year is to improve on my personal best timing in both the 100m and 200m, and it does not matter in which meet or championship I am able to do so, as long as I can better my timings,” said Jonathan.

“At the same time I need maintain consistency in the timing that I record, but the fact of the matter is I always try, strive to be the best sprinter.”

Jonathan helped the national 4x100m quartet made up of Khairul Hafiz, Nixson, Badrul Hisyam and himself to qualify for the final of the event at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia recently.

Jonathan’s personal best in the 100m is 10.28s which he achieved at the Korea Open Athletics meet last year.

Meanwhile in the 200m event, his best timing is 21.18s which he achieved at the Malaysia Open Athletics Championship back in 2016.
