KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) will leverage on the unity government's lacklustre performance to gain support in the lead up to the 16th general election, says Bersatu leader Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.

The Masjid Tanah MP said this during the Keluar Sekejap podcast hosted by Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Hamdan, recently.

She claimed people are disappointed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for failing to deliver on the promises that he made in the previous general election.

She added that PN has been working hard to serve the people and make achievable promises and offerings to them.

One of the examples she cited was the failure to reduce petrol prices.

"Many of the things that they (PH) fought for in the last general election have not taken place since they became the government. Many ministers in the unity government are not performing well. They played better roles when they were in opposition," she said.

"Don't make any offers or promises for the sake of popularity. We must be careful when making these lofty promises," she added.
