KUALA LUMPUR: In his latest Keluar Sekejap podcast, former Umno leader Khairy Jamaluddin has hit out at people who said the Malaysia should not have ejected academician Bruce Gilley.

The political science professor, who purportedly made a remark during a talk at Universiti Malaya, accused Malaysia of advocating for a second Holocaust against the Jewish population.

"The problem is his views are not factual. They are obviously fraudulent," said Khairy.

Gilley faced backlash from many quarters following his controversial comments including from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who commented,

"Mediocre scholar should not be invited as a visiting professor in the first place."

"I don't think we have a problem with inviting academics from around the world to come to Malaysia and discuss matters academically. However, when he crossed the line and made (UM) a platform for his Zionist propaganda, we did not hesitate in cancelling (his events) and asking him to leave Malaysia," said Khairy.

Khairy also mentioned that hundred students have been detained across universities in the United States amid demonstrations calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and divestment from companies associated with Israel.
