KOTA BARU: The body of a 37-year-old man who went missing after he fell from the Tendong bridge on Tuesday was found today.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) team comprised of police and firefighters discovered the man's body at about 9.15am.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the body was found at the Pok Jeng jetty in Tumpat, about 6km from the place where he was reported missing.

"The body was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem, and police have classified the case as sudden death," he told a press conference here today.

Zaki also said police have arrested 626 people for various drug offences in a week-long operation which ended today.

He added that the 626, including 20 foreigners, were arrested for offences ranging from possession to trafficking drugs.

"In the operation, police have seized various types of drugs and items worth about RM782,000.

"Among the drugs seized were methamphetamine pills, ketum leaves and juice," he added.

Zaki said the 626 people, aged 17 to 55, were being held for further investigation.
