RANTAU PANJANG: Petronas today handed over a donation to 1,500 victims in Kelantan who were affected by flood.

A simple ceremony to hand over the donation was made at SK Gual Tinggi flood relief centre witnessed by Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.

Presenting the donation was Petronas East Coast general manager Mohammad Ahmad Shazly Ramly.

Ahmad Shazly said the donation was under Petronas' 'Prihatin Pakej'.

"Each family will get daily necessities such as blankets, biscuits, shower items and mineral water.

"This donation is Petronas' continuous efforts to help flood victims. We hope it will help reduce their burden while they are at the relief centres," Ahmad Shazly said today.

He added Petronas Foundation would continue its cooperation with the Welfare Department in helping those affected by the disaster.

To show its support to the agencies involved in the rescue operation, he said Petronas also donated fuel supplies worth RM10,000 to the relevant agencies.

"The donation in the form of Petronas Gift Cards have been given to the rescue agencies via the state Disaster Management Department," he said.

He added that since 2019, Petronas Foundation has donated about RM5 million to the heads of households who were affected by the yearly flood.
