KUALA LUMPUR: The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia yesterday (November 16) celebrated 20 distinguished players through the 2023 CIDB Fellowship Award.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who presented the award, said it was to honour role models in the industry who have continuously contributed to the development and improvement of the construction sector.

"The CIDB Fellowship Award is an opportunity for us to recognise the industry pioneers, who have championed construction excellence in a myriad of ways.

"At the same time, we are paying homage to their illustrious careers, as well as their vast experience that spans decades," he said in a statement today.

CIDB Malaysia chairman Yusuf Abd Wahab and its chief executive Datuk Mohd Zaid Zakaria were also in attendance at the ceremony.

The recipients hold vast experience in various fields in the industry including contractors, developers, construction professionals, academia, manufacturers and government agencies.

The 2023 CIDB Fellowship Award marks the third installation of the programme. In 2015, 65 industry leaders were feted in conjunction with its 20th anniversary, and a batch of 46 fellows received the award in 2018. – Bernama
