BAYAN LEPAS: A boy who went into the Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) power station to retrieve a ball sustained severe burns after he came in contact with electrical conduits inside the premises.
The Bayan Baru fire and rescue station was alerted to the incident at Taman Sri Bayu here at about 4.55pm.
Operations commander Mohamad Hirman Mat Rodzi said: "Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered the young boy with significant burns, prompting paramedics to transport him for urgent medical attention."
Hirman said thorough safety checks were conducted to ensure no lingering dangers before the situation was handed over to TNB.
The operation successfully concluded by 5.43pm.
Meanwhile, southwest district police chief Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal confirmed the incident, explaining that the child entered the power station room to retrieve his ball and suffered injuries after a fall.
