SANDAKAN: The body of a man who drowned during a picnic at Kuala Pemaguan here on Sunday, was found 30 hours later, tonight.

The body of Sharian Amirshah, 37, was found floating by family members near where he was last seen on Sunday.

The victim, who worked in a family business, was on an outing with nine other relatives and friends when he disappeared while swimming at about 3.30pm.

The district Fire and Rescue Department received a report on his disappearance at 10.03pm on Sunday night.

A spokesman for the department said a search and rescue operation was mounted this morning.

"His family members found the body at 9.59pm, where he was reported to have drowned," said.
