SANDAKAN: A woman was found dead inside a three-metre deep drain at Kampung Sundang Batu Sapi here, today.
The woman, in her 40s, is believed to be a foreigner. She was clad in a red shirt and black pants when her body was found at 1pm.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azhar Hamin said the victim could have fallen into the drain yesterday.
“She was also electrocuted. The surrounding area is pitch-black at night and that is probably why no one noticed the victim,” he said, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.
Firemen have retrieved body from the drain and the victim was sent to the district hospital for a post-mortem.
