PETALING JAYA: A young woman believed to be an Indonesian national was found dead with injury marks on her body by the side of a staircase near the lift on the fifth floor of block 5, Desa Mentari here this morning.

Petaling Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakrudin Abdul Hamid said that they received a police report regarding the incident at 6.30am today.

He said that upon arriving at the location, police found a woman believed to be in her early twenties, sprawled in a pool of blood at the lift staircase of Block 5 in Desa Mentari.

According to him the injuries sustained by the victim cannot be determined yet and they are waiting for the forensics team from the Selangor Contingent police headquarters to investigate.

"So far we have not identified the suspect and we are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please come forward to the nearest police station to aid in investigations.

"We will also check and inspect the closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage and record statements as part of efforts to track down the suspect involved in this incident," he told Harian Metro, here, today.
