KOTA BARU: A woman was found dead in her car after the car skidded in front of a petrol station on Jalan Sultan Ibrahim, yesterday evening.

Kota Baru district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, said the incident occurred at 3.19pm when the victim was driving a Perodua Myvi car from Jalan Zainal Abidin towards Jalan Sultan Ibrahim.

He said initial investigations at the scene found that the victim's vehicle was moving slowly onto Jalan Sultan Ibrahim without stopping when at the junction.

"At that time, the victim is believed to have been unconscious, and her vehicle skidded towards the road divider. Initial investigations found no criminal elements.

"Her body was taken to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) here for a post-mortem examination.

"Further investigations are ongoing, and the case has been classified as sudden death," he said in a statement last night.

Mohd Rosdi urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to the police station to assist in the investigation.
