KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial policewoman Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as "Inspector Sheila" was in the spotlight again after being slapped with a new criminal charge of causing public nuisance.

She pleaded not guilty to the offence before magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan.

The 35-year-old woman is currently facing three charges of threatening and tarnishing the reputation of a lance corporal and two civilians.

As for the latest charge, she allegedly committed public nuisance by honking repeatedly as well as screaming at the scene, causing public distress to Nuraihan Nadzifah Ibrahim.

The offence is alleged to have occurred near the parking lot at a shopping mall in Brickfields at 5.26pm on June 16.

The offence falls under Section 268 of the Penal Code and carries a fine of up to RM400 upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Zuhairi Osman prosecuted while lawyer M. Manoharan appeared for the accused.

The court set RM500 bail with one surety.
