KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial policewoman Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as 'Inspector Sheila', has sent a representation letter to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) seeking the dismissal of public nuisance charges against her.

Counsel M. Manoharan, who represented the 36-year-old woman, said they sent the letter yesterday on the grounds that the charges faced by his client were trivial.

"Today, magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan has fixed March 20 for the prosecution to update the court on the representation.

"They (prosecution) said they need three weeks to review the representation filed which consists of about 20 pages.

"In addition to the trivial reasons, the representation was filed because my client is actually a victim in that sensationalised case," he said when met after the proceedings.

On Nov 8, last year, Sheila was accused of committing public nuisance by honking repeatedly and screaming at the scene, causing public distress to Nuraihan Nadzifah Ibrahim.

The offence is alleged to have occurred near the parking lot at a shopping mall in Brickfields at 5.26pm on June 16.

The offence falls under Section 268 of the Penal Code and carries a maximum fine of RM400 upon conviction.

On June 26, 2023, Sheila who had since been suspended from the force, was charged with making criminal threats with an intention to intimidate a 69-year-old woman at a restaurant located in Taman Sri Gombak, within the Gombak district on June 15 around noon.

This charge was framed under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of two years' jail and a fine.

She was also charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code with insulting the modesty of a 41-year-old Lance Corporal Abdul Arif Farhan Abdul Raz.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of five-year imprisonment and a fine.

Subsequently, Sheila was accused of intimidating a male police officer of the rank of lance corporal with intent to insult his modesty around 1.25pm also at the same location and date with the previous charges.
