Police are looking for plantation general worker, Sari Supu to assist in investigations.

SANDAKAN: A plantation driver was stabbed twice by a co-worker who accused him of reporting his gambling activities to their employer two days ago.

The enraged suspect confronted the driver last night after he was hauled up and reprimanded by their employer over the deed earlier that day.

Jumardin Kamaruddin, 33, was returning home on a motorcycle when he was stopped by the suspect at the roadside near the entrance of the plantation quarters about 9.30pm.

A scuffle broke out between the two, and ended in Jumardin being stabbed on the right hand and lower chest with a sharp weapon, believed to be a knife.

“The suspect fled towards the plantation field after the incident while Jumardin was rushed by other workers to the Beluran Hospital.

“The victim was later transferred to the Duchess of Kent Hospital here for further treatment.

“We are looking for plantation general worker Sari Supu in his 30s to assist in investigations,” said district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azhar Hamin.

Based on his employment record, Sari began working at the plantation more than 10 months ago. The public is urged to contact the nearest police station if they know his whereabouts.
