KOTA BARU: A woman who allegedly stabbed a man three times in the abdomen after he tried to force her to have sex with him, has been remanded for seven days to assist in police investigation into the case.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhammad Zaki Harun said police have obtained the remand order against the 28-year-old woman yesterday.

The remand order, he said, was obtained at Kuala Krai magistrate's court under Section 117 of Criminal Procedure Code.

"Police yesterday obtained a seven-day remand order to detain the woman to facilitate our investigation into the murder of the 45-year-old man.

"The remand order ends on April 9," he said.

It was reported yesterday that a man died after he was stabbed three times in the abdomen.

He allegedly tried to force the woman to have sex with him in Manek Urai.

Police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident.

Police received a report about a body of a man found lying in front of a public toilet in Dataran Lemang about 6.30pm on Monday.

A few stab wounds were found on the man's stomach.

No blood traces were found near the scene where the body was discovered.
