KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor hosted a breaking-of-fast event with local Muslim scholars, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and Majlis Bekas Wakil Rakyat Malaysia (Mubarak) at Seri Perdana here yesterday evening.
In a Facebook posting on his personal account, Najib and Rosmah were pictured mingling with orphans and other guests.
The couple also distributed hari raya aid to 89 orphans from Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Wilayah Persekutuan during the event.
Prior to the event, Najib presented a mock cheque to Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom who was also present, to be distributed to Islamic NGOs.
After breaking of fast and terawih prayers, special prayers were held for the Muslims in Gaza led by Wilayah Persekutuan Mufti Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Albakri.
