BELURAN: A cooking oil factory worker was killed when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a palm oil tanker lorry at KM40 Jalan Beluran - Telupid yesterday.
Beluran police chief Supt Sivanathan Velautham said the victim was known as Sabrul Bin Sabang, 18.
He said the victim’s motorcycle was believed to have drifted into the opposite lane and collided head on with the tanker lorry in the 10.15 am incident.
The victim died while being taken to Beluran Hospital, he told reporters here today.
The 52-year-old lorry driver, however, escaped unhurt.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
