KULAI: A 29-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a 2m-deep ravine at Jalan Felda Inas-Jalan Titiwangsa here, yesterday.

Fire and Rescue Department operations commander, Fairuz Helmi Mohd Ali, said in the 1.18pm incident, rescuers found the victim pinned to the seat of his car, which had turned turtle in the ravine.

Despite rescue efforts, he was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Meanwhile, in Muar yesterday, a hydraulic crane was used to rescue a trailer driver who crashed into the Muar bypass bridge's guard rails at Pekan Parit Bunga.

The driver was trapped in the lorry's cabin, which was hanging over the bridge after it skidded and landed on its side.

The department's operations commander, Muhammat Fazli Mat Jinn, said the 44-year-old driver was successfully extricated from the cabin.

The driver, identified as Ismail Mahdom, sustained injuries in the 10.25am incident. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
