SHAH ALAM: Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd sees Qatar as brimming with business opportunities despite the fact that the Middle East nation experiencing a blockade from neighbouring Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

Muhibbah Engineering's managing director Mac Ngan Boon said that the company is bidding for two additional jobs in Qatar for the construction of roads and infrastructure works in the country's special economic zone on top of projects that it has already secured in January this year.

He however declined to specify exactly what the jobs were, except to say that it was in the infrastructure construction sector.

"We are hopeful of getting one of them,” he said adding that Qatar has a lot to offer.

"The football World Cup 2022 is coming up and we see opportunities there," he said, describing the country as a very wealthy nation.

He was speaking to reporters after the company's annual general meeting here today.
