KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will bank on their experience when they face hosts Singapore in the semi-finals of the Asian Netball Championship at OCBC Arena tomorrow.

On Thursday, the national team, who defeated Singapore in the 2017 and 2019 Sea Games finals, fell 56-43 to their rivals in a group match.

While 34th-ranked Singapore will have the backing of their fans today, world No 25 Malaysia believe they can pull it off and reach the final to face defending champions Sri Lanka or Hong Kong.

National coach Lisa Beehag said her players have learned from the defeat to Singapore in the group stage.

"Singapore caught us by surprise with their attacking-orientated game yesterday. We could not adapt to their speed.

"However, my team did not play to their abilities. We will look into a few options and learn from the previous game ahead of the match."

Meanwhile, captain Nur Syafazliyana Ali said: "We will have a new gameplan for the semi-finals.

"We have been trying out a few strategies in training. It will be a different Malaysian side tomorrow."

The finalists of the Asian Championship will advance to next year's World Cup in South Africa.
