BUKIT JALIL: As expected, Malaysia could not avoid a heavy defeat to heavyweights Hong Kong no matter how hard the national rugby team tried.

The Malaysians went down 67-8 by Hong Kong in an Asian Championship fixture at the National Stadium today.

National coach Lee Nyuk Fah admitted that his team need to improve in a lot of areas to match the top Asian sides.

“Malaysia are catching up with South Korea but Hong Kong are still far ahead of us,” he said.

Last week, Malaysia lost 35-10 to South Korea in Bukit Jalil.
