SEPANG: Ducati Lenovo's Enea Bastianini clinched his first MotoGP win of the season after emerging victorious in the main race at the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia today.

Bastianini, who started from third on the grid, led from start to finish, taking the win in 39 minutes and 59.137 seconds on a dry track at the Sepang Circuit.

The Italian has been struggling with injuries this season.

Sprint race winner Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) came in second, 1.535s adrift, while Ducati Lenovo's Francesco Bagnaia (+3.562s) completed the podium.

The result saw Bagnaia extending his lead atop the premier class standings, as his closest rival Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac) could only manage fourth (+10.526s) place today.

Bagnaia leads the championship with a 14 point advantage over second-placed Martin.
