ABU DHABI: Mercedes AMG PETRONAS driver Valtteri Bottas wants to draw inspiration from 2016 winner Nico Rosberg to become a world champion in the Formula One Championship one day.

Rosberg faced fierce rivalry from five-time world champion and then teammate Lewis Hamilton for his first title. He was crowned in the last race at the Yas Marina circuit here.

"For sure, Hamilton is among the best drivers right now.

"He is a good person and also talented, as well as hard working. Right now, he is one of the most experienced racers in F1.

"So it is very difficult to beat him. However, Rosberg proved everyone wrong in 2016.” said Bottas.

Bottas, who will be into his third season with Mercedes next year, said the challenge from Hamilton gives him the inspiration to do better.

“I know it (becoming world champion) can be achieved, but I need to work harder,” he added.
