ABU DHABI: Mercedes AMG Petronas are prepared for the new ruling concerning fuel, as they intend to continue their winning ways in next season's Formula One (F1) championship.

In an effort to maximise driving experience during a race, the new rule will require all teams to use 110kg of fuel as compared to the 105kg used this season.

Petronas' liquid technology Research and Development (R&D) chief, Andrea Dolfi, said the new ruling will pose a new challenge to all the teams.

"As I have always mentioned, the use of fuel is very important.

"An additional 5kg of fuel with the right amount of chemicals will push the engine to perform better.

"This new rule will see faster cars with better endurance. The right engine oil will also enable the cars to perform better.

"In our effort to be more consistent, this new rule will certainly challenge every team in the championship," said Dolfi when met here before the final race this season at the Yas Marina circuit.

According to Dolfi, every team's focus had always been on the cars and the engine.

"Fuel is also a crucial factor.

"Our double success for the past five season was not something we created overnight.

"Instead, it's because of our participation in the sport of F1 since 1995.

"This is the fruit of our labour, and we will continue to work hard to produce more desirable results in the future," added Dolfi.
