KUALA LUMPUR: Utility player Daniel Ting has indicated that injury-hit Harimau Malaya may use a different approach when they face Kyrgyzstan and Taiwan in the World Cup qualifiers.

National coach Kim Pan Gon tested new tactics during the recent 1-0 win over Perak in a friendly in Bukit Jalil.

Malaysia will take on Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek on Thursday, followed by their final Group D match against Taiwan on June 11.

Daniel said adapting to new tactics has been challenging.

The team needs to adapt without Faisal Halim, Arif Aiman Hanapi, Azam Azmi Murad, Romel Morales, Darren Lok, Ahmad Syihan Hazmi and Syafiq Ahmad, who are injured.

"We have new players and tactics, so it is definitely an adjustment. We are trying a different approach. However, the team look really good," said Daniel at Wisma FAM, Kelana, today.

Daniel, who often plays further up the field as a winger for Sabah in the Super League, scored the decisive goal against the Bos Gaurus.

He expressed readiness to take on any role required.

"Every player wants to score, and it's a nice boost going into the Kyrgyzstan match. I'm happy to score, provide, or be involved as long as we're scoring," said Daniel.

Malaysia, who are third in Group D with six points, must earn good results in their remaining matches to finish top two to qualify for the third stage of the qualifiers.
