London: Key quotes after Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley yesterday:

"I don't know (if I will stay). The only thing I am doing is preparing my team, developing my team, progressing my team and individual players. This is for me a project.

"When I came in things were a mess. We are now better but by far not where we want to be."

-- Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is unsure about his future at the club

"It was the last chance to get something positive from the season. We were here last season and we weren't good enough and we had to see them go up and get the trophy.

"They have great quality, great players, a great manager. We had to sacrifice and suffer but we did great things. I try my best to help the team.

"It is crucial for everyone. We know the manager is under so much scrutiny, he deserves this, also everyone in the backroom staff and the players, we all deserve this."

"Incredible (fans). The fans are always there when we win, or lose, home or away."

"(It means) absolutely everything. It's been a tough season with ups and downs. This is the only thing we've had to look forward to. Last year I was in the stands.

"We knew we had to come together. The preparation for this game has been amazing. We've shown we can compete and win games."

"We lost the game. Congratulations to United. It was a tight game.

"It can happen. Many things. At the end they scored two goals and we couldn't score more.

"The second half we were there all the game. Manchester United are always a transition team. First half we struggled a bit but second half we were better. In general it is a good performance for a final."
