KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu will tighten security at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium and install closed-circuit television cameras at their training centre in Gong Badak following the recent attacks on footballers.

On May 2, Terengganu forward Akhyar Rashid was assaulted and robbed in Kuala Terengganu.

Terengganu youth development, sports and NGO committee chairman Hishamuddin Abdul Karim said the club have taken steps to tighten security, especially after the return of Akhyar to training.

"The police are also monitoring and keeping a close eye on our players," said Hishamuddin.

Terengganu will open their Super League against Penang at City Stadium, Georgetown, on Sunday.
