SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has urged Red Giants fans to pay tribute to acid-attack victim Faisal Halim during tomorrow's Super League match against Kedah at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.

Amirudin hopes that both Selangor and Kedah supporters will join together in showing support for Faisal with a minute's applause in the seventh minute of the match, signifying his jersey number.

"Faisal needs encouragement from everyone. The incident has been nothing short of a nightmare," said Amirudin after visiting Faisal at a private hospital here today.

"The winger has a battle ahead of him to recover and return to the football pitch. I hope the fans at the stadium tomorrow will come together in a show of solidarity."

On May 5th, Faisal suffered injuries after being splashed with acid at a shopping centre in Damansara. The Penang-born player, who suffered fourth-degree burns, has undergone four surgeries.

Meanwhile, Selangor board member Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar has urged the Red Giants to win the match for Faisal.

"Faisal has been sending voice notes to his teammates, motivating them to do well in the Super League. He wants them to focus on the Kedah game.

The team hope to beat Kedah and collect their first points," said Shahril.
