KUALA LUMPUR: It is rare to see twin sisters battling it out in a final of any sport.

However, the third leg of the Allianz Junior Badminton Championship (AJBC) saw twin sisters, E. Xingnee and E. Xingnian, in action in the girls' Under-11 singles final.

After a see-saw battle, Xingnee defeated Xingnian to win the crown in Alor Star.

"We share an indescribable bond. I understand her thoughts, and she understands mine," Xingnian said.

Xingnee added: "We share everything. We are in the same class in school and share a room at home. We will feel awkward if we are not together."

The 11-year-olds, who study at SKJC Keat Hwa (H) in Alor Star, have been training for the last two years under coach Tan Seng Hoe, the father of national doubles player Pearly Tan.
