HULU SELANGOR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has unveiled its manifesto for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

It was announced by its candidate Pang Sock Tao at Ceramah Perdana at Bandar Utama Batang Kali here tonight.

More than 400 people, including the coalition's top leaders, attended the event.

Among those present were Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Election director for KKB by-election Ng Sze Han, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

DAP Selangor chairman Gobind Singh Deo, its organising secretary Steven Sim and Selangor Umno information chief Datuk Mohd Zaidi Md Zain were also present.

The manifesto outlines initiatives across various sectors to ensure dynamic economic development, efficient transportation systems, fast internet coverage, environmental preservation, cultural heritage enhancement, and people's welfare.

The manifesto's five pillars are as follows:

Economy:

*To stimulate economic activities based on industrial development in Hulu Selangor, local tourism, and entrepreneurship.

*To collaborate with Tourism Malaysia and Selangor Tourism to promote Kuala Kubu Baharu as a top-tier weekend getaway destination.

*To use state and federal government entrepreneurship programmes such as Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah), the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun Nasional) and others to enhance local entrepreneurship, especially among young people and women.

*To uncover more entrepreneurs selling creative and innovative tourism products and services that create a unique selling point (USP).

*To work with Selangor investment exco and government agencies such as Invest Selangor and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to bring more investments to the high-tech industrial Area in Serendah, in which the benefits can be enjoyed by the Kuala Kubu Baharu youth.

Facilities:

*To improve the transportation system and public facilities, including increasing Internet speed

*To collaborate closely with local councils, district officers and federal agencies to ensure regular maintenance of public facilities in KKB and enhance road connectivity with major cities.

Environment and Recreation:

*To ensure sustainable development and conservation of the environment

*Enhancing the recreational life of local residents

*This includes fostering close cooperation with the Selangor state government and the federal government to ensure that the environment in KKB remains unharmed by development.

*To upgrade existing facilities and provide new amenities for the recreational use of Kuala Kubu Baharu residents and as a new tourist destination.

Heritage and Culture:

*To launch initiatives to preserve and elevate the heritage and culture of Kuala Kubu Baharu.

*This involves organising various programmes and initiatives to increase awareness of Kuala Kubu Baharu's unique heritage and culture, as well as elevating its status nationally and internationally.

People's Welfare:

*To safeguard the welfare of people, ensuring that no one is left behind, among others, to provide assistance to marginalised groups such as single parents, the poor, and persons with disabilities.
