KUALA LUMPUR: Newlyweds Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai are just one match away from winning their second World Tour title this season after reaching the Malaysia Masters final on Saturday.

In the semi-finals at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, the world No. 18 independent duo ousted compatriots and Paris Olympic-bound Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei 21-11, 21-19.

Soon Huat-Shevon, who won the Swiss Open in March, will play third seeds Rinov Rivaldy-Pitha Haningtyas Mentari of Indonesia on Sunday for the crown.

It would be Soon Huat-Shevon's second Malaysia Masters final after losing to then-compatriots Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing in the 2017 edition.
