KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) today unveiled its manifesto for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, scheduled to take place on May 11.

The manifesto, announced by the party's candidate Khairul Azhari Saut, involved five cores which aimed to allow the opposition bloc to elevate the voice of the Kuala Kubu Baharu constituents.

He said the coalition's manifesto for Kuala Kubu Baharu was drawn up based on the main issues faced by locals, such as the rising cost of living and economy.

"The first framework is advocating for quality and sustainable development. This will be done by urging for the development of quality and comprehensive infrastructure and basic amenities.

"We aim to be the voice of Kuala Kubu Baharu residents and act as a mediator between the people and government agencies," he said when presenting the party's manifesto at Bizbox, here.

The second point, he said, was to ensure environmental sustainability and green surroundings.

"We will provide a blueprint for sustainable Kuala Kubu Baharu development to maintain natural greenery and a clean environment.

"The beauty of the surrounding nature and areas can be promoted as eco-tourism zones that can boost economic activities for the local community."

The third, empowering local economy, would see the establishment of a service centre to facilitate meetings for residents and local stakeholders.

"We will also provide an online platform to promote and act as an agent to promote local products."

Meanwhile, harnessing the potential of younger generation and progressive women is the fourth point.

"Sports and recreational facilities, as well as public amenities can be restored and upgraded.

"This will then amplify empowerment programmes for youth and women, especially in sports and socioeconomic matters."

The fifth point will see PN advocating for minority communities.

Khairul said part of the plan was to recognise the Orang Asli settlements by providing quality and safe basic facilities.

"Demands for disabled-friendly development will be made, especially in all public infrastructure throughout Kuala Kubu Baharu," he said.
