JOHOR BARU: Pas Johor pledges to extend its support to the new Johor government administation under Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Its Youth Council Chief Ustaz Juwahir Amin, in www.berita.pas.org.my dedicated news portal, said Pas was in a transition phase towards being a party which was more reciprocal to changes made by the government in power both in state and federal administration as long as it did not pose harmful threats to the Malaysian Muslim community in general.

“We support any proposed policy or decision by the new Johor government, including policies introduced by the new Federal government, as long as it brings good to all and does not pose a risk to Muslims,” he said.

Juwahir also said the new ruling government should also prioratise fulfilling each and every pledge in its manifesto in the last election which was considered to be an ‘amanah’ (Trust) for a wholesome living standard for all rakyat.

“Should we fail in our duty to fulfill what was promised, it will spell disaster for us as the political scenario in Malaysia now is totally in the hands of the people when coming to any decision which affects the country’s development and administration,” he said.

Juwahir also said with that in mind, Pas Johor was willing to be an ideal governmental dialogue partner with the PH coalition as its governs Johor in the next five years.

Several days earlier Juwahir had revealed the party’s election post mortem analysis for the Johor which concluded that Pas needed to be receptive to exercise a more matured political and non-hostile politics.

Juwahir said the recent election should be taken by Pas as a a check and balance platform for the sustainability of Pas future standing.

“The future for Pas in Johor seems bright as we see more support from the youths in the state, a reflection of the strong acceptance and need for Islamic teachings and practices to remain strong and relevant in the state.
