KANGAR: The Perlis government is looking into extending the Visit Perlis 2024-2025 campaign to attract more travellers from Sweden.

Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said tourism was among the potential cooperation that could be pursued between Perlis and the Scandinavian country.

He said ideas were discussed during a visit by Sweden's ambassador to Malaysia Dr Joachim Bergstrom to Perlis on Monday.

"Dr Bergstrom can help promote Perlis tourism in Sweden.

"He was taken to several tourism hotspots here, such as Kampung Warna-Warni in Seberang Ramai, Kuala Perlis and the Wang Kelian Viewpoint," he said after chairing the state executive council meeting here today.

Shukri said both parties also discussed potential collaboration in other sectors, including education.

"We discussed a potential education collaboration between universities in Sweden and Universiti Malaysia Perlis and Universiti Teknologi Mara Perlis.

"This includes sharing programmes offered by the universities.

"We believe this cooperation can further enhance our education sector."
