KUALA LUMPUR: The public is advised to exercise caution following actions by irresponsible parties who used the image, profile and position of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.
Political secretary to Na'im, Dr Muhamad Razak Idris, in a statement today, said that the minister's office recently identified instances of invitations and promotions to join various groups across social media platforms.
He said the minister's office had lodged a police report and informed the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission for further action.
"As such, it is important for the public to verify invitations, purportedly coming from Na'im, especially on social media, before responding to them."
