KUCHING: An old wooden building at SK Kpg Muhibbah in Bako was razed in an early-morning fire today.
No one was hurt in the 1am fire.
The Fire and Rescue Department, which was notified of the incident at 1.18am, deployed two fire engines and 16 firemen from the Kota Samarahan and Tabuan Jaya fire stations to the scene.
The department said the 174 x 36sq ft building was beyond saving when they arrived, and that firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
The department said the cause of the fire and estimated losses were being investigated.
