KLUANG: Three people were killed and another severely injured when the car they were traveling in crashed into an electric pole in Jalan Renggam, Simpang Renggam here last night.
Mohamad Ziyad Azmi, Ahmad Manan Zaini and Muhamad Adib Ahmad Shahfarin, all 21, succumbed to their injuries and died on the spot in the accident.
The other person who was in the Proton Wira, identied as Nor Aminul Fitri Nor Azmi, also 21, was rushed to the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for treatment.
Renggam Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Shoromi Salih said a team of 14 men was deployed to the scene after they were alerted of the accident at 11.45pm.
"All victims who trapped inside the car were extricated using special equipment," the spokesman said, adding that the operation to remove the bodies and rescue victims trapped inside the vehicle concluded at 1.13am today.
