KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized the mobile phones belonging to the parents of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin to facilitate the investigation into the murder of the six-year-old boy.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the seizure was a standard procedure conducted by the police for investigation purposes.

"The mobile phones belonging to both of them have been seized. This is a standard procedure for investigative purposes," he said.

When asked if the police have seized other items from the couple, Hussein said that the matter cannot be disclosed at the time.

It was reported yesterday that police on Friday have arrested the parents of the autistic boy at their family home in Puncak Alam, Selangor.

The couple, both 28, was arrested at 10.05am under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police yesterday obtained a seven-day remand order against the parents of boy , who was found dead near a river at his home in Damansara Damai on Dec 6 last year.
