KUALA LUMPUR: While the Asean Football Federation (AFF) plans to inaugurate its new headquarters in Putrajaya in the coming months, an unflattering video of the building has come out on social media.

The viral video shows the new AFF headquarters overrun by bushes and appearing unkempt, raising questions about the state of the new facility.

In response, the AFF said in a media statement: "The AFF has been informed by the developer of the AFF building that final rectification and touch-up work is underway.

"AFF is looking forward to the building's handover, which is scheduled to take place in the next few months."

The AFF new headquarters is a five-storey building with a gross floor area of approximately 26,000 square feet. It was announced by the then AFF President Sultan Ahmad Shah in 2013, with the foundation stone laid in 2015.

Initially, the building was expected to be completed by the end of 2019, but it was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The AFF is currently operating at Pavilion, KL.
