IPOH: Ipoh City Council has brought back its assessment tax lucky draw initiative, an annual programme that has consistently increased full-year tax payments since its inception.

The council, in a Facebook post on Feb 6, said that the positive response from Ipoh citizens is a reflection of their acceptance of the yearly tax payment system and the subsequent lucky draw conducted by the city council.

For 2024, the council is rewarding residents who pay their r assessment tax for the full year without arrears through any of the council's payment channels and who download and register on the D-MBI app.

This qualifies them for the 2024 Lucky Draw, offering 30 main prizes, including a Perodua Axia 1.0 E (MT), four 110cc motorcycles, a 65-inch Smart TV, and a selection of attractive household items and digital gadgets, with a total value of RM99,000.00.

The DMBI app is available for download on Google Play and the App Store. Payments can be made at the Ipoh City Council Payment Counter, Post Office Counters, PBT Perak Counters, and online via the MBI website at www.mbi.gov.my (D-MBi@iPOH), PBTPay, JomPAY, and Internet banking. This initiative encourages citizens to make payments without the need to visit counters while still participating in the Lucky Draw.

The council is offering a rebate of up to RM5 for the first 20,000 early taxpayers for the 2024 assessment tax year, subject to terms and conditions.

Residents are advised to make their payments promptly if they wish to enjoy the chance to participate in the 2024 lucky draw, which ends on Feb 29.
