KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin have called on all quarters, regardless of political affiliation, to work together to ensure the welfare and sustenance of the people.

In a post on the Selangor Royal Office's Facebook page, Their Royal Highnesses have extended New Year greetings to the people of Selangor and all Malaysians.

"Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin wish to extend their New Year greetings for 2024 to the people of Selangor specifically, and to all Malaysians in general.

"Their Royal Highnesses hope that 2024 will bring more brilliance and success to the lives of the people, especially in all aspects, particularly the economy.

"It is desired that all parties, irrespective of political beliefs, collectively pool their efforts and focus on initiatives to ensure the well-being and sustenance of the people," it read.

In the same post, they hope that everyone will greet the new year with resolutions and goals that will benefit them and the country, thereby enhancing peace and prosperity.

"May 2024 be a better year for all the diverse people of different races and religions in Malaysia," read the post.
