KUALA LUMPUR: Both pilots in the doomed Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) which crashed in Bandar Elmina, Shah Alam last month, had no health issues, revealed the Elmina Aircrash Report released by the Transport Ministry today.
The report said while the pilot in command (PIC) and second in command (SIC) had succumbed to multiple injuries in the crash, but evidence indicated that both individuals did not suffer from cockpit incapacitation.
"Hence, the hypothesis of medical causative and contributing factors to this accident may be discounted," the report said.
On witness account, the PIC was reported to be well the night before the accident on Aug 17, and a witness also said the PIC had good rest before the flight departed from Langkawi.
"Both the PIC and SIC held valid medical cetificates from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM)."
On Aug 17, 10 people were killed in the deadly private jet crash on the Guthrie Highway near Bandar Elmina, just minutes from landing at the nearby Subang's Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport from Langkawi.
Initial investigations showed that the aircraft with eight people onboard veered to the right from its flight path before the crash.
The accident killed all eight onboard, including Pahang's Pelangai state assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun.
Also killed were two motorists who had been using the Guthrie Corridor Expressway, where the crash occured
Others killed were Johari's special aide, Mohammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki, 37; pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan 41, and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim, 45; Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, 43; Shaharul Amir Omar, 49; Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, 35; Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali, 41; p-hailing rider Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh; 32; and, e-hailing driver Sharipudin Shaari, 51.
