KUALA LUMPUR: Five massage parlours suspected of being involved in prostitution activities in Seputeh were raided by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) yesterday.

In a Facebook post, DBKL stated that the premises were identified through a five-day investigation and surveillance in the area. They reported that all five premises were immediately shut down, and business items were confiscated.

"A total of 82 interior structures (premises) were demolished, and all relevant premises were closed," the statement read.

DBKL also issued five compounds under Section 79(1) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974 for erecting additional interior structures without permission.

Additionally, five compounds were issued under the Minor Offences Act (UUK) 3(1) and the Kuala Lumpur Business and Industry Trade By-Laws 2016 for operating massage parlour businesses without a license.

DBKL also confiscated items were stored at the Jalan Lombong Depot in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
