KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Stuart Ramalingam, the chief executive officer of the Malaysian Football League (MFL), which has been embroiled in the controversial punishment of Selangor FC, is said to be leaving his post.
It's learnt that Stuart will not extend his contract which is set to end on Aug 30, and he has decided not to renew it.
It is unclear whether his decision is related to the recent sanctions imposed by MFL on Selangor after the latter's withdrawal from the Charity Shield on May 10.
Stuart, in a text message to the media, said: "My media friends, many are contacting me about the recent rumours of my position. All I can say for now is that I am committed to MFL and discussions are on-going pertaining to my contract that ends in August. Do note that anything official on this will be annouced in due course and for now I am still committed to my role. Thank you very much for your messages and concern."
