KUALA LUMPUR: Barely a month after gaining the spotlight, food vendor Akka Nasi Lemak found herself caught in a conflict with one of her customers.

All was said to have stemmed from a misunderstanding and in the viral spat, the seller Sangeetha was yelled at in public by a customer.

Earlier, Sangeetha, who has been in the food business for over 10 years, informed customers that all her nasi lemak had sold out, leaving only the side dishes as an option.

Based on postings by Twitter user @JagSingh01, crediting @HausofHilton, a customer became angry when another customer in front of her asked for chicken and was attended by the seller.

"She thought there was still nasi lemak being sold and started to get angry at the seller. The customer even mentioned a name that she was familiar with and left.

"The Akka then called up this person and spoke about the angry customer. At this juncture, the angry customer came back and started shouting at her again.

A boy, believed to be Sangeetha's son, was seen defending his mother.

Netizens was fast to slam the customer for her unruly behaviour and praised the boy for his bravery in defending Sangeetha.

"That's how a son should act... always protect their mother at all cost. Good job kid! Big respect!" said @illustrious_77.

"The son is a true definition of a hero. The man!", @0906nivar tweeted.

"It's cute that her son gets angry and defends his mother. His hand was ready to punch from the start," said @_xxw4.

Netizens also believed that Malaysians should support such small businesses like Sangeetha's.

A user, @quezack2 prayed that the seller would continue to persevere in business amid this controversy.

"Small businesses do have a quota for prepared menus and will sell out especially if it has fans.

"Be patient everyone, keep supporting our local business!," said @cili_hijau.

Another user, @Bluecat40 tweeted: "Be patient. Keep walking forward. Try to use a number queue soon to avoid cutting lines. If the rice runs out, it's okay to place a sign using cardboard and write it in capital letters. Good luck."

It was learnt that the drama between Sangeetha and the customer has been settled as reported on the customer's TikTok account.
