SHAH ALAM: "I want to go home."
These were the first words spoken by Selangor FC midfielder Faisal Halim after undergoing his third surgery at a private hospital.
Selangor technical committee chairman Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar shared this with the media in the hospital compound after visiting the player on Friday.
Shahril explained that the Harimau Malaya winger continues to make positive progress and is cheerful.
He revealed that Faisal is restless in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) room.
"He can now go to the bathroom by himself, and for me, this is definitely a positive development.
"We're pleased to see him cheerful and mobile again. Mickey remains Mickey, but his movements are somewhat restricted due to the bandages," said Shahril.
Faisal, who suffered fourth-degree burns after being splashed with acid, underwent his third surgery for a skin allograft procedure that lasted about three hours.
Shahril believes Faisal will recover faster due to his resilience and determination.
"We pray for a speedy recovery, although we understand it will take some time. He'll stay in the ICU for about seven days.
"If the doctor approves, he'll be moved to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) in a week or two.
"I hope he can return home by Hari Raya Haji (June 17)," he added.
