KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 17,963 flood evacuees from Kelantan and Terengganu have been recorded as of 12pm today.

The Terengganu Disaster Management Committee secretariat in a Facebook post today reported 10,204 flood victims from 2,596 families had sought shelter at 42 relief centres (PPS).

"In Kemaman, 4,047 flood evacuees from 1,060 families are housed at six relief centres, while 4,858 victims from 1,207 families are at 19 flood relief centres in Hulu Terengganu.

"In Dungun, there are 986 victims from 249 families sheltered at 12 relief centres and in Kuala Nerus, 178 people from 50 families are at three relief centres.

"There are also 135 people from 30 families occupying two relief centres in Kuala Terengganu."

The committee also reported there were no flood victims at the relief centres in Besut and Setiu as of Press time.

At the same time, the National Disaster Command Centre (NDCC) reported that there are 7,759 flood victims from 2,548 families at 21 flood relief centres across Kelantan.
