MUAR: A team of volunteers distributed food baskets to homes in the outskirts of Muar to help ease the hardship faced by the people there due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We try our best to help the needy during these difficult times. Johor is still under Phase 1," said Pagoh Srikandi Bersatu chief

Janariah Abu Nawan, who is also heading Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia's (AIM) bloc for Muar.

The team comprised Pagoh Srikandi Bersatu and Armada Bersatu Pagoh represented by its information bureau head Mohd Eazry Abd Razak, as well as local AIM representatives.

The areas covered included Bukit Treh, Kampung Tengah, Parit Setongkat, Parit Rawa, Panchor and Parit Jawa.

"The people in the outskirts cannot travel far and many are unable to afford groceries," said Mohd Aezry.

He added that the Bakul Prihatin food baskets have been very helpful in assisting the needy in Muar.
