KUANTAN: There will be no overlap in terms of registration for those who have signed up for the Covid-19 vaccination using both the Pahang Covid-19 Immunisation System (SICP) and MySejahtera mobile application.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail described the SICP, which is a "feeder" system introduced by the state government to the existing MySejahtera mobile application, as something that will further expedite the vaccination process for the people here.

"There is no overlap or multiple registrations for those (people in Pahang) who have already registered with MySejahtera and later with SICP. Both systems complement each other to ensure no one is left out of the vaccination programme.

"SICP's role is to gather data from potential vaccine recipients through related agencies, set appointments and hand over the information to MySejahtera to make notifications (on appointment dates) to the users," he told reporters when met after the state-level 214th Police Day celebration at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee hall here today.

Wan Rosdy said with the SICP, elderly people in Pahang who do not own handphones can seek their children's help to register through the website.

Meanwhile, he encouraged more people to sign up for the National Immunisation Programme.

He said volunteers from the Pahang Social Action Council have been deployed on the ground for this effort.

"The volunteers will be stationed at morning markets, pasar malam and public event venues to help the people register with SICP. We want to approach the public and ensure they understand the importance to register for vaccination," he said.

On the vaccination for frontliners in Pahang, Wan Rosdy said 3,123 police personnel from a total of 5,422 have received their vaccine shots.
